Chicago, Illinois, United States, 23 Election Committee ruled that former White House chief Rahm Emanuel have the right to run for Chicago mayor.
Election Committee at a hearing that day unanimously adopted the decision. Committee day, declared: "Rahm Emanuel's name can be printed on the ballot paper."
October 1 Emanuel White House chief resigned, November 13 formally announced his campaign for mayor of Chicago.
However, his decision to run for mayor there has been some controversy. Some believe that any of Emmanuel in 2009 moved to Washington during the White House chief of staff, and then gave up the Chicago resident status, also did not qualify for the mayor.
Regulations by Chicago Mayor candidates must have prior legal resident status for one year the local.
However, the regulations do not "legal residents" to make specific provisions. The Illinois law, if the residents of the state "for state affairs" temporarily leave their places of origin, and its residents should be protected.
